19 ⁿEvery tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them ^lby their fruits.

I Never Knew You

21 ^o“Not everyone who ^psays to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will ^qenter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who ^rdoes the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 ^sOn that day ^tmany will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not ^uprophesy in your name, and cast out demons ^vin your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 ^tAnd then will I declare to them, ‘I ^wnever knew you; ^xdepart from me, ^yyou workers of lawlessness.’

Build Your House on the Rock

24 ^z“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like ^aa wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like ^aa foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

18 ^rto open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from ^sthe power of Satan to God, that they may receive ^tforgiveness of sins and ^ua place among those who are sanctified ^vby faith in me.’

30 And because of him¹ you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us ^swisdom from God, ^trighteousness and ^usanctification and ^vredemption,

31 so that, as it is written, ^w“Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

22 But ^ethe fruit of the Spirit is ^flove, joy, peace, patience, ^gkindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23 ^hgentleness, ⁱself-control; ^jagainst such things there is no law.

Stand Firm

13 But ^xwe ought always to give thanks to God for you, ^ybrothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you ^zas the firstfruits^{1 a}to be saved, ^bthrough sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.

17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we ^bkeep his commandments.

4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments ^cis a liar, and ^cthe truth is not in him,

14 We know that ^awe have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death.

8 ^lAnyone who does not love does not know God, because ^mGod is love.

16 So ^xwe have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. ^yGod is love, and ^zwhoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

20 ^fIf anyone says, “I love God,” and ^ghates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot¹ love God ^hwhom he has not seen.

Overcoming the World

1 ^kEveryone who believes that ^lJesus is the Christ has been born of God, and ^meveryone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him.
