2  And ^dthe Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,

the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,

the Spirit of counsel and might,

the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

1  ^bBehold ^cmy ^dservant, whom I uphold,

^emy chosen, ^fin whom my soul delights;

^gI have put my Spirit upon him;

he will bring forth justice to the nations.

16  Draw near to me, hear this:

from the beginning I ^xhave not spoken in secret,

from the time it came to be I have been there.”

And now the Lord God has sent me, and his Spirit.

18  ^c“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,

because he has anointed me

to proclaim ^dgood news to the poor.

He has ^esent me to proclaim liberty to the captives

and recovering of sight to the blind,

^fto set at liberty those who are oppressed,

19  to proclaim the ^gyear of the Lord’s favor.”
