An Oracle Concerning Egypt
1 An oracle fconcerning Egypt.
Behold, the Lord is riding on a swift cloud
and comes to Egypt;
and the gidols of Egypt will tremble at his presence,
and the heart of the Egyptians will melt within them.
12 I shall kindle a fire in the temples of the igods of Egypt, and he shall burn them and carry them away captive. And he shall clean the land of Egypt as a shepherd cleans his cloak of vermin, and he shall go away from there in peace.
13 He shall break the obelisks of Heliopolis, which is in the land of Egypt, and the temples of the gods of Egypt he shall burn with fire.’”
25 The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, said: “Behold, I am bringing punishment upon Amon of Thebes, and Pharaoh and Egypt and her gods and her kings, upon Pharaoh and those who wtrust in him.
