7  “In my distress I called upon the Lord;

to my God I called.

^rFrom his temple he heard my voice,

and my cry came to his ears.

4  ^lThe Lord is in his holy temple;

the Lord’s throne is in heaven;

his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man.

and my cry to him reached his ears.

2  ^eHear, you peoples, all of you;¹

^fpay attention, O earth, and all that is in it,

and let the Lord God be a witness against you,

the Lord from his ^gholy temple.

20  But ^fthe Lord is in his holy temple;

^glet all the earth keep silence before him.”
