10 Now ^tit is in my heart ^uto make a covenant with the Lord, the God of Israel, in order that his fierce anger may turn away from us.

8 ⁱDo not now be stiff-necked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the Lord and come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God, ^jthat his fierce anger may turn away from you.

4 And the Lord said to Moses, ^h“Take all the chiefs of the people and ⁱhang¹ them in the sun before the Lord, ^jthat the fierce anger of the Lord may turn away from Israel.”
