1  O Lord, ^uwho shall sojourn in your ^vtent?

Who shall dwell on your ^wholy hill?

2  He who ^xwalks blamelessly and ^ydoes what is right

and ^zspeaks truth in his heart;

3  who ^adoes not slander with his tongue

and does no evil to his neighbor,

nor ^btakes up a reproach against his friend;

4  ^cin whose eyes a vile person is despised,

but who honors those who fear the Lord;

who ^dswears to his own hurt and does not change;

5  who ^edoes not put out his money at interest

and ^fdoes not take a bribe against the innocent.

He who does these things shall never be ^gmoved.

1  ^jBlessed is the one whose ^ktransgression is forgiven,

whose sin is covered.

2  Blessed is the man against whom the Lord ^lcounts no iniquity,

and in whose spirit ^mthere is no deceit.

3  For when I kept silent, my ⁿbones wasted away

through my ^ogroaning all day long.

4  For day and night your ^phand was heavy upon me;

my strength was dried up² as by the heat of summer. Selah

5  I ^qacknowledged my sin to you,

and I did not cover my iniquity;

I said, “I ^rwill confess my transgressions to the Lord,”

and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

6  Therefore let everyone who is ^sgodly

offer prayer to you at a time when you ^tmay be found;

surely in the rush of ^ugreat waters,

they shall not reach him.

7  You are a ^vhiding place for me;

you preserve me from ^wtrouble;

you surround me with ^xshouts of deliverance. Selah

8  I will ^yinstruct you and teach you in the way you should go;

I will ^zcounsel you with my eye upon you.

9  ^aBe not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,

which must be curbed with ^bbit and bridle,

or it will not stay near you.

10  ^cMany are the sorrows of the wicked,

but steadfast love surrounds the one who ^dtrusts in the Lord.

11  ^eBe glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous,

and ^fshout for joy, all you ^gupright in heart!

1  ^hSing aloud to God our strength;

ⁱshout for joy to the God of Jacob!

2  Raise a song; sound ^jthe tambourine,

^kthe sweet lyre with ^kthe harp.

3  Blow the trumpet at ^lthe new moon,

at the full moon, on our feast day.

4  For it is a statute for Israel,

a rule² of the God of Jacob.

5  He made it ^ma decree in ⁿJoseph

when he ^owent out over³ the land of Egypt.

^pI hear a language ^qI had not known:

6  “I ^rrelieved your⁴ shoulder of ^sthe burden;

your hands were freed from the basket.

7  In distress you ^tcalled, and I delivered you;

I ^uanswered you in the secret place of thunder;

I ^vtested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah

8  ^wHear, O my people, while I admonish you!

O Israel, if you would but listen to me!

9  There shall be no ^xstrange god among you;

you shall not bow down to a ^yforeign god.

10  ^zI am the Lord your God,

who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

^aOpen your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11  “But my people did not listen to my voice;

Israel ^bwould not submit to me.

12  So I ^cgave them over to their ^dstubborn hearts,

to follow their own ^ecounsels.

13  ^fOh, that my people would listen to me,

that Israel would ^gwalk in my ways!

14  I would soon subdue their enemies

and ^hturn my hand against their foes.

15  Those who hate the Lord would ⁱcringe toward him,

and their fate would last forever.

16  But he would feed you⁵ with ^jthe finest of the wheat,

and with ^khoney from the rock I would satisfy you.”

1  Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;

let us ^fmake a joyful noise to ^gthe rock of our salvation!

2  Let us ^hcome into his presence with thanksgiving;

let us ^fmake a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

3  For the Lord is ⁱa great God,

and a great King ^jabove all gods.

4  In his hand are the depths of the earth;

the heights of the mountains are his also.

5  The sea is his, for ^khe made it,

and his hands formed ^kthe dry land.

6  Oh come, let us worship and bow down;

let us ^lkneel before the Lord, our ^mMaker!

7  For he is our ⁿGod,

and we are the people of his ^opasture,

and the sheep of his hand.

^pToday, if you ^qhear his voice,

8  ^rdo not harden your hearts, as at ^sMeribah,

as on the day at ^tMassah in the wilderness,

9  when your fathers put me to the ^utest

and put me to the proof, though they had seen my ^vwork.

10  ^wFor forty years I loathed that generation

and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart,

and they have not known ^xmy ways.”

11  Therefore I ^yswore in my wrath,

“They shall not enter ^zmy rest.”

1  When ^pIsrael went out from Egypt,

the house of Jacob from ^qa people of strange language,

2  Judah became his ^rsanctuary,

Israel his dominion.

3  ^sThe sea looked and fled;

^tJordan turned back.

4  ^uThe mountains skipped like rams,

the hills like lambs.

5  What ^vails you, O sea, that you flee?

O Jordan, that you turn back?

6  O mountains, that you skip like rams?

O hills, like lambs?

7  ^wTremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,

at the presence of the God of Jacob,

8  who turns ^xthe rock into ^ya pool of water,

^zthe flint into a spring of water.
