14 ^l“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 ^mNor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so ⁿthat¹ they may see your good works and ^ogive glory to your Father who is in heaven.

17 ^hFor the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but ⁱof righteousness and ^jpeace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 Whoever thus serves Christ is ^kacceptable to God and approved by men. 19 So then let us ^lpursue what makes for peace and for ^mmutual upbuilding.

12 ^kKeep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, ^lthey may see your good deeds and glorify God on ^mthe day of visitation.

1 Likewise, wives, ^kbe subject to your own husbands, so that ^leven if some do not obey the word, ^mthey may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they see your ⁿrespectful and pure conduct.

10 Therefore, brothers,¹ be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and ^qelection, for if you practice these qualities ^ryou will never fall.
