Mark 3:20–35

20 Then he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat. 21 And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, q“He is out of his mind.”

22 rAnd the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by sBeelzebul,” and t“by the prince of demons he casts out the demons.” 23 And he called them to him and said to them in uparables, “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26 And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. 27 But no one can enter a vstrong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.

28 “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, 29 but whoever wblasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— 30 for they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

31 xAnd his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. 32 And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers1 are outside, yseeking you.” 33 And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” 34 And zlooking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 For awhoever bdoes the will of God, he is my cbrother and sister and mother.”

Mark 11:12–25

12 uOn the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. 13 And seeing in the distance a vfig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 And he said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.

15 wAnd they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the xmoney-changers and the seats of those who sold ypigeons. 16 And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. 17 And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, z‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a aden of robbers.” 18 And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way bto destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was castonished at his teaching. 19 And when evening came they1 went out of the city.

20 dAs they passed by in the morning, they saw the efig tree withered away to its roots. 21 And Peter remembered and said to him, f“Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” 22 And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, gwhatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received2 it, and it will be yours. 25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, hif you have anything against anyone, iso that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”3
