9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, ^sthe faithful God ^twho keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

9 provided you are careful to keep all this commandment, which I command you today, by loving the Lord your God and by walking ever in his ways—^wthen you shall add three other cities to these three,

16 If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God¹ that I command you today, ^wby loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules,² then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.
