13 Go in at once to King David, and say to him, ‘Did you not, my lord the king, swear to your servant, saying, ^m“Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne”? Why then is Adonijah king?’

17 She said to him, “My lord, you swore to your servant by the Lord your God, saying, ^m‘Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne.’

24 Now therefore ^tas the Lord lives, who has established me and placed me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me a house, ^uas he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death today.”
