26 And he made efrom one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having fdetermined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,
10 oThe Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
phe frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
the plans of his heart to all generations.
1 The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord;
he turns it wherever he will.
23 He makes nations great, and he destroys them;
he enlarges nations, and leads them away.
24 He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth
and omakes them wander in a trackless waste.
25 They grope in the dark without light,
and he makes them stagger like a drunken man.
Boasting About Tomorrow
13 Come now, you who say, j“Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14 yet kyou do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a lmist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, m“If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”
