Keep in Step with the Spirit
16 But I say, twalk by the Spirit, and you will unot gratify the vdesires of the flesh. 17 For wthe desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, xto keep you from doing the things you want to do.
14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed wby his own xdesire. 15 Then desire ywhen it has conceived gives birth to sin, and zsin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
14 As obedient children, zdo not be conformed to the apassions of your bformer ignorance,
4 by which he has granted to us his precious and fvery great promises, so that through them you may become gpartakers of the divine nature, having hescaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life1—is not from the Father but is qfrom the world. 17 And rthe world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever sdoes the will of God abides forever.
