How Majestic Is Your Name

O Lord, our Lord,

how majestic is your qname in all the earth!

You have set your rglory above the heavens.

sOut of the mouth of babies and infants,

you have established tstrength because of your foes,

to still uthe enemy and the avenger.

When I vlook at your heavens, the work of your wfingers,

the moon and the stars, xwhich you have set in place,

ywhat is man that you are zmindful of him,

and athe son of man that you bcare for him?

Yet you have made him a little lower than cthe heavenly beings2

and crowned him with dglory and honor.

You have given him edominion over the works of your hands;

fyou have put all things under his feet,

all sheep and oxen,

and also the beasts of the field,

the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,

whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

O Lord, our Lord,

how majestic is your name in all the earth!


18 Then the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; nI will make him a helper fit for1 him. 19 oNow out of the ground the Lord God had formed2 every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and pbrought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam3 there was not found a helper fit for him. 21 So the Lord God caused a qdeep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made4 into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said,

This at last is rbone of my bones

and flesh of my flesh;

she shall be called Woman,

because she was staken out of Man.5

24 tTherefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.


And Pharisees came up and in order bto test him asked, cIs it lawful for a man to divorce his wife? He answered them, What did Moses command you? They said, dMoses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and to send her away. And Jesus said to them, Because of your ehardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. But ffrom the beginning of creation, God made them gmale and female. hTherefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife,1 and ithe two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. jWhat therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.

10 And in the house the disciples asked him again about this matter. 11 And he said to them, kWhoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her, 12 and lif she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.

Let the Children Come to Me

13 mAnd they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples nrebuked them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, oLet the children come to me; pdo not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 15 qTruly, I say to you, whoever does not rreceive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it. 16 And she took them in his arms and blessed them, tlaying his hands on them.

The Supremacy of God’s Son

Long ago, at many times and ain many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but bin these last days che has spoken to us by dhis Son, whom he appointed ethe heir of all things, fthrough whom also he created gthe world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and hthe exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. iAfter making purification for sins, jhe sat down kat the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name lhe has inherited is more excellent than theirs.


The Founder of Salvation

For it was not to angels that God subjected the world lto come, of which we are speaking. It has been testified somewhere,

mWhat is man, that you are mindful of him,

or the son of man, that you care for him?

You made him for a little while lower than the angels;

you have crowned him with glory and honor,1

putting everything in subjection under his feet.

Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, nwe do not yet see everything in subjection to him. But we see him owho for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, pcrowned with glory and honor qbecause of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might rtaste death sfor everyone.

10 For it twas fitting that he, ufor whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons vto glory, should make the wfounder of their salvation xperfect through suffering. 11 For yhe who sanctifies and zthose who are sanctified aall have one source.2 That is why he is not ashamed to call them bbrothers,3 12 saying,

cI will tell of your name to my brothers;

in the midst of the dcongregation I will sing your praise.
