Psalm 52:7

7  “See the man who would not make

God his refuge,

but ftrusted in the abundance of his riches

and sought refuge in his own destruction!”1

Proverbs 11:28

28  Whoever strusts in his riches will fall,

but tthe righteous will flourish like a green leaf.

1 Timothy 6:9–10

9 But wthose who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a xsnare, into many senseless and harmful desires that yplunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

1 Timothy 6:17

17 As for the rich in lthis present age, charge them not to be mhaughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, nbut on God, owho richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
