9 nHe makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
4 He shall judge between the nations,
and shall decide disputes for many peoples;
and they shall beat their mswords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nnation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore.
5 For every boot of the tramping warrior in battle tumult
and every garment rolled in blood
will be burned as fuel for the fire.
9 “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and make afires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, clubs1 and spears; and they will make fires of them for seven years, 10 so that they will not need to take wood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for they will make their fires of the weapons. They will seize the spoil of those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord God.
