3  ^tDo not drag me off with the wicked,

with the workers of evil,

who speak peace with their neighbors

^uwhile evil is in their hearts.

21  His speech was smooth as butter,

^fyet war was in his heart;

^ghis words were softer than oil,

yet they were drawn swords.

4  They only plan to thrust him down from his high position.

They take pleasure in falsehood.

They bless with their mouths,

^sbut inwardly they curse. Selah

8  Their tongue is a deadly arrow;

it speaks deceitfully;

with his mouth each speaks peace to his neighbor,

but in his heart he plans an ambush for him.
