47  the God who gave me vengeance

and subdued peoples under me,

10  ⁿThe righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance;

he will bathe his ^ofeet in the blood of the wicked.

10  Why should the nations say,

^r“Where is their God?”

Let the avenging of the outpoured blood of your servants

be known among the nations before our eyes!

8  O Lord our God, you answered them;

you were a forgiving God to them,

but an avenger of their wrongdoings.

7  to execute vengeance on the nations

and punishments on the peoples,
