Psalm 111

Great Are the Lord’s Works

1 pPraise the Lord!

I qwill give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart,

in the company of rthe upright, in the congregation.

Great are the sworks of the Lord,

tstudied by all who delight in them.

uFull of splendor and majesty is his work,

and his vrighteousness endures forever.

He has wcaused his wondrous works to be remembered;

the Lord is gracious and merciful.

He provides food for those who fear him;

he xremembers his covenant forever.

He has shown his people the power of his works,

in giving them the inheritance of the nations.

The works of his hands are faithful and just;

all his precepts are ytrustworthy;

they are zestablished forever and ever,

to be performed with afaithfulness and uprightness.

He sent bredemption to his people;

he has ccommanded his covenant forever.

dHoly and awesome is his name!

10  eThe fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;

all those who practice it have fa good understanding.

His gpraise endures forever!

Proverbs 9:1–6

The Way of Wisdom

vWisdom has built her house;

she has hewn her wseven xpillars.

She has yslaughtered her beasts; she has zmixed her wine;

she has also aset her table.

She has bsent out her young women to ccall

from dthe highest places in the town,

eWhoever is simple, let him turn in here!

fTo him who lacks sense she says,

Come, geat of my bread

and hdrink of zthe wine I have mixed.

Leave iyour simple ways,1 and jlive,

kand walk in the way of insight.

John 6:51–58

51 I am the living bread ethat came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give ffor the life of the world is gmy flesh.

52 The Jews then hdisputed among themselves, saying, iHow can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53 So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of jthe Son of Man and drink his blood, you khave no life in you. 54 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood lhas eternal life, and mI will raise him up on the last day. 55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood nabides in me, and I in him. 57 As othe living Father psent me, and qI live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. 58 rThis is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread1 the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.

Ephesians 5:15–20

15 pLook carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 pmaking the best use of the time, because qthe days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what rthe will of the Lord is. 18 And sdo not get drunk with wine, for that is tdebauchery, but ube filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in vpsalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 wgiving thanks always and for everything to God the Father xin the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
