Psalm 78:15; Psalm 105:41; Exodus 17:5–6; Numbers 20:11; Isaiah 48:21

15  He gsplit rocks in the wilderness

and gave them drink abundantly as from the deep.

41  He opened the rock, and awater gushed out;

it flowed through bthe desert like a river.

And the Lord said to Moses, Pass on before the people, taking with you some of the elders of Israel, and take in your hand the staff with bwhich you struck the Nile, and go. cBehold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb, and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people will drink. And Moses did so, in the sight of the elders of Israel.

11 And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice, uand water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock.

21  hThey did not thirst when he led them through the deserts;

ihe made water flow for them from the rock;

he split the rock and the water gushed out.
