10  For you, O God, have ^ctested us;

you have tried us as silver is tried.

3  ^sThe crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold,

and the Lord tests hearts.

27  “I have made you a ^xtester of metals among my people,

that you may know and test their ways.

7  Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts:

“Behold, I will ^jrefine them and test them,

for what else can I do, because of my people?

9  And I will put this third into the fire,

and refine them ^bas one refines silver,

and test them as gold is tested.

They will call upon my name,

^cand I will answer them.

^dI will say, ‘They are my people’;

and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
