8  They are brought to ruin, ⁱwith their own tongues turned against them;

all who see them will ^jwag their heads.

13  ^fAn evil man is ^gensnared by the transgression of his lips,¹

but the righteous escapes from trouble.

7  ^qA fool’s mouth is his ruin,

and his lips are a ^rsnare to his soul.
