43  uMany times he delivered them,

but they were rebellious in their vpurposes

and were wbrought low through their iniquity.

24 vBut they did not obey or incline their ear, wbut walked in their own counsels and xthe stubbornness of their evil hearts, and ywent backward and not forward.

16  For you have kept the statutes of qOmri,1

and all the works of the house of rAhab;

and you have walked in their counsels,

that I may make you sa desolation, and your2 inhabitants sa hissing;

so you shall bear tthe scorn of my people.”
