31  ^cThe horse is made ready for the day of battle,

^dbut the victory belongs to the Lord.

7  ^sSome trust in chariots and some in ^thorses,

but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

17  ^uThe war horse is a false hope for salvation,

and by its great might it cannot rescue.

1  Woe¹ to those who ^kgo down to Egypt for help

and ^lrely on horses,

who trust in chariots because they are many

and in horsemen because they are very strong,

but do not look to the Holy One of Israel

or consult the Lord!
