knowledge and discretion to the youth—

5  O ^lsimple ones, learn prudence;

O fools, ^mlearn sense.

To him who lacks sense she says,

11  When a scoffer is punished, the ^psimple becomes wise;

when a wise man is instructed, he gains knowledge.
