22 “How long, O asimple ones, will you love being simple?
How long will bscoffers delight in their scoffing
and fools chate knowledge?
7 Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse,
and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.
8 lDo not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you;
mreprove a wise man, and he will love you.
6 nA scoffer seeks wisdom oin vain,
but pknowledge is easy for a man of understanding.
12 uA scoffer vdoes not like to be reproved;
he will not go to the wise.
25 qStrike ra scoffer, and the simple will slearn prudence;
treprove a man of understanding, and he will gain knowledge.
29 Condemnation is ready for rscoffers,
and xbeating for the backs of fools.
11 When oa scoffer is punished, the simple becomes wise;
when a wise man is instructed, he gains knowledge.
24 f“Scoffer” is the name of the arrogant, haughty man
who acts with arrogant pride.
10 cDrive out a scoffer, dand strife will go out,
and equarreling and abuse will cease.
9 gThe devising1 of folly is sin,
and hthe scoffer is an abomination to mankind.
8 oScoffers set a city aflame,
but the wise turn away wrath.
