24 cWhoever spares the rod hates his son,
but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.1
1 eThe wisest of women fbuilds her house,
but folly with her own hands gtears it down.
6 uGrandchildren are vthe crown of the aged,
and the glory of children is their fathers.
18 fDiscipline your son, for there is hope;
do not set your heart on gputting him to death.
7 The righteous who jwalks in his integrity—
kblessed are his children after him!
6 wTrain up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.
13 Do not withhold ndiscipline from a child;
oif you strike him with a rod, he will not die.
14 If you strike him with the rod,
you will psave his soul from Sheol.
15 vThe rod and reproof give wisdom,
but a child left to himself wbrings shame to his mother.
17 yDiscipline your son, and he will give you rest;
he will give delight to your heart.
