15  ^dA soft answer turns away wrath,

but ^ea harsh word stirs up anger.

14  ^eA king’s wrath is a messenger of death,

and a wise man will ^fappease it.

4  If the anger of the ruler rises against you, ^jdo not leave your place,

^kfor calmness¹ will lay great offenses to rest.
