Numbers 30:13; Psalm 35:13; Isaiah 58:5

13 Any vow and any binding oath to afflict herself,1 her husband may establish,2 or her husband may make void.

13  But I, qwhen they were sick

I rwore sackcloth;

I safflicted myself with fasting;

I prayed twith head bowed1 on my chest.

hIs such the fast that I choose,

ia day for a person to humble himself?

Is it to bow down his head like a reed,

and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him?

Will you call this a fast,

and a day acceptable to the Lord?
