30 But the person who does anything ^wwith a high hand, whether he is native or a sojourner, reviles the Lord, and that person shall be cut off from among his people.

12 I tell you, it will be ^vmore bearable on that day for ^wSodom than for that town.

Woe to Unrepentant Cities

13 ^x“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more bearable in the judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be ^yexalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to ^zHades.

47 And that servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a ⁿsevere beating.

22 ^xIf I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin,¹ but now they have no excuse for their sin.

24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.

4 For ^sit is impossible, in the case of those who have once been ^tenlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and ^uhave shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 and have ^vtasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, ^wsince they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

17 ^qObey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

17 ^oSo whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
