27 “You have heard that it was said, ^f‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who ^glooks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Giving to the Needy

1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be ^bseen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

18 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. 19 ^aFor out of the ^bheart come evil thoughts, ^cmurder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. 20 These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”
