Matthew 1:22–23

22 bAll this took place cto fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:

23  dBehold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,

and they shall call his name eImmanuel

(which means, God fwith us).


Matthew 2:5–6

They told him, In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet:

pAnd you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,

are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;

for from you shall come a ruler

who will qshepherd my people Israel.


Matthew 2:15

15 and remained there until the death of Herod. yThis was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, zOut of Egypt I called my son.


Matthew 4:13–16

13 And leaving pNazareth he went and lived in qCapernaum by rthe sea, in the territory of sZebulun and Naphtali, 14 tso that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:

15  uThe land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,

the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles

16  vthe people dwelling in darkness

have seen a great light,

and for those dwelling in the region and wshadow of death,

on them a light has dawned.


Matthew 8:16–17

16 That evening they brought to him many who were xoppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits ywith a word and healed all who were sick. 17 zThis was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: aHe took our illnesses and bore our diseases.


Matthew 13:35

35 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet:1

fI will open my mouth in parables;

gI will utter what has been hidden hsince the foundation of the world.


Matthew 21:4–5

This took place tto fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying,

uSay to the daughter of Zion,

Behold, your king is coming to you,

vhumble, and mounted on a donkey,

on a colt,1 the foal of a beast of burden.
