The Baptism of Jesus
13 rThen Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. 14 John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” 15 But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all srighteousness.” Then he consented. 16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, tthe heavens were opened to him,1 and he saw the uSpirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; 17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, v“This is my wbeloved Son,2 xwith whom I am well pleased.”

26 tNow as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; uthis is my body.” 27 And he took a vcup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, 28 for wthis is my xblood of the1 covenant, which is poured out for ymany for the forgiveness of sins. 29 I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

30 zAnd when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
19 Go therefore and mmake disciples of nall nations, baptizing them in1 the oname of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am pwith you always, to the end of the age.”
The Baptism of Jesus
9 iIn those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw jthe heavens being ktorn open and the Spirit descending lon him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven, m“You are my nbeloved Son;1 owith you I am well pleased.”

22 dAnd as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, “Take; ethis is my body.” 23 And he took a fcup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. 24 And he said to them, g“This is my hblood of the1 covenant, which is poured out ifor many. 25 Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

26 jAnd when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
21 dNow when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, ethe heavens were opened, 22 and the fHoly Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, g“You are my hbeloved Son;1 iwith you I am well pleased.”2
19 And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, q“This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, r“This scup that is poured out for you is the tnew covenant in my ublood.1
23 John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because water was plentiful there, and people were coming and being baptized
41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were padded that day about three thousand souls.
The Fellowship of the Believers
42 And they qdevoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the rbreaking of bread and the prayers.
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and ybeginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. 36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! zWhat prevents me from being baptized?”1 38 And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord acarried Philip away, and the eunuch bsaw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing.
30 Then he brought them out and said, l“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 And they said, m“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was nbaptized at once, he and all his family.
Eutychus Raised from the Dead
7 yOn the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to zbreak bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the next day, and he prolonged his speech until midnight.
3 Do you not know that all of us who have been zbaptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were aburied therefore with him by baptism into death, bin order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in cnewness of life.
5 For if we have been dunited with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
16 nThe cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? oThe bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?
21 tYou cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.
23 uFor I vreceived from the Lord what I also wdelivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for1 you. Do this in remembrance of me.”2 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the xnew covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. 28 yLet a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.
