Jesus Heals a Man with an Unclean Spirit
21 bAnd they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and was teaching. 22 And they were castonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had dauthority, and not as the scribes.
33 And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, 34 “Ha!1 What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I qknow who you are—the rHoly One of God.” 35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be ssilent and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm. 36 And they were all amazed and said to one another, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!” 37 And treports about him went out into every place in the surrounding region.
Jesus Heals Many
29 hAnd immediately he1 left the synagogue and entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 Now Simon’s mother-in-law lay ill with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. 31 And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her, and she began to serve them.
40 Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to him, and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.
17 This was uto fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: v“He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”
33 And the whole city was gathered together at the door. 34 And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. And ihe would not permit the demons to speak, jbecause they knew him.
41 And demons also came out of many, crying, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would vnot allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the wChrist.
