18 dthey will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; ethey will lay their hands fon the sick, and they will recover.

19 Behold, I have given you authority yto tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of zthe enemy, and anothing shall hurt you.


Acts 28:3–5

When Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and put them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened on his hand. When pthe native people saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, qNo doubt this man is a murderer. Though he has escaped from the sea, rJustice1 has not allowed him to live. He, however, sshook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm.
