Luke 1:1

Dedication to Theophilus

1 aInasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been baccomplished among us,

Luke 3:4–6

4 As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet,

i“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:

‘Prepare the way of the Lord,1

make his paths straight.

5  Every valley shall be filled,

and every mountain and hill shall be made low,

and the crooked shall become straight,

and the rough places shall become level ways,

6  and jall flesh shall see the salvation of God.’”

Luke 4:17–21

17 And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,

18  c“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,

because he has anointed me

to proclaim dgood news to the poor.

He has esent me to proclaim liberty to the captives

and recovering of sight to the blind,

fto set at liberty those who are oppressed,

19  to proclaim the gyear of the Lord’s favor.”

20 And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. 21 And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

Luke 7:22–23

22 And he answered them, “Go and tell John swhat you have seen and heard: tthe blind receive their sight, the ulame walk, lepers1 are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the vdead are raised up, the wpoor have good news preached to them. 23 And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.”
