22 “Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!

34 They answered him, “You were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?” And they cast him out.

35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”¹

42 Nevertheless, many even of ^xthe authorities believed in him, but ^yfor fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be ^zput out of the synagogue;

2 They will ^gput you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you ^hwill think he is offering service to God.
