13 And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them ^otwelve, whom he named apostles:

18 I am not speaking of all of you; I know whom I have ^ychosen. But the Scripture will be ^zfulfilled,^{1 a}‘He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’

16 You did not choose me, but ^mI chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
