11 For xeveryone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.


14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For neveryone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.


xWhoever humbles himself like this child is the wgreatest in the kingdom of heaven.


23  eOne's pride will bring him low,

fbut he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.


26 thus says the Lord God: Remove the turban and take off the crown. Things shall not remain as they are. jExalt that which is low, and bring low that which is exalted.


But dhe gives more grace. Therefore it says, eGod opposes the proud but dgives grace to the humble.


10 lHumble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.


Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. wClothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for xGod opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
