10 And I said to you, ‘I am the Lord your God; ^uyou shall not fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell.’ But you have not obeyed my voice.”

15 ⁱAnd if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, ^jchoose this day whom you will serve, whether ^hthe gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or ^kthe gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. ^lBut as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

2 And Joshua said to all the people, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Long ago, ^fyour fathers lived beyond the Euphrates,¹ Terah, the father of Abraham and of Nahor; and ^gthey served other gods.

24 And the woman said to Elijah, ^c“Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is truth.”
