16 And hwhen she pressed him hard with her words day after day, and urged him, his soul was vexed to death.
4 As for me, is my mcomplaint against man?
Why should I not be impatient?
21 With much seductive speech she persuades him;
with gher smooth talk she compels him.
22 All at once he follows her,
as an ox goes to the slaughter,
or as a stag is caught fast1
23 till an arrow pierces its liver;
as ha bird rushes into a snare;
he does not know that it will cost him his life.
26 for many a victim has she laid low,
and all her slain are ja mighty throng.
27 Her house is kthe way to Sheol,
going down to the chambers of death.
9 But God said to Jonah, i“Do you do well to be angry for the plant?” And he said, “Yes, I do well to be angry, angry enough to die.”
24 And he said to them, f“This is my hblood of the1 covenant, which is poured out for imany.
8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything qbecause he is his friend, yet because of his impudence1 he will rise and give him whatever he needs.
5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’”
