Your children have forsaken me

^mand have sworn by those who are no gods.

ⁿWhen I fed them to the full,

^othey committed adultery

^pand trooped to the houses of whores.

8  They were well-fed, lusty stallions,

^qeach neighing ^rfor his neighbor’s wife.

10  ^jFor the land is full of adulterers;

^kbecause of the curse ^lthe land mourns,

and ^mthe pastures of the wilderness are dried up.

ⁿTheir course is evil,

and their might is not right.

4  ^eThey are all adulterers;

they are like a heated oven

whose baker ceases to stir the fire,

from the kneading of the dough

until it is leavened.
