17 And the people of Israel set out and reached their cities on the third day. aNow their cities were Gibeon, Chephirah, Beeroth, and Kiriath-jearim.


1 Samuel 6:21

21 So they sent messengers to the inhabitants of zKiriath-jearim, saying, The Philistines have returned the ark of the Lord. Come down and take it up to you.


1 Samuel 7:1–2

And the men of Kiriath-jearim came and took up the ark of the Lord and brought it to the house of aAbinadab on the hill. And they consecrated his son Eleazar to have charge of the ark of the Lord. From the day that the ark was lodged at Kiriath-jearim, a long time passed, some twenty years, and all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord.


1 Chronicles 13:5–6

Uzzah and the Ark

fSo David assembled all Israel gfrom the hNile1 of Egypt to Lebo-hamath, to bring the ark of God ifrom Kiriath-jearim. jAnd David and all Israel went up to kBaalah, that is, to Kiriath-jearim that belongs to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord who lsits enthroned above the cherubim.
