3 ^bThen I took your father Abraham from beyond the River¹ and led him through all the land of Canaan, and made his offspring many. ^cI gave him Isaac.

8 And he gave him ^fthe covenant of circumcision. And so ^gAbraham became the father of Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day, and ^hIsaac became the father of Jacob, and ⁱJacob of the twelve patriarchs.
