Joshua 17:16–18

16 The people of Joseph said, The hill country is not enough for us. Yet all the Canaanites who dwell in the plain have mchariots of iron, both those in Beth-shean and its villages and those in nthe Valley of Jezreel. 17 Then Joshua said to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, You are a numerous people and have great power. You shall not have one allotment only, 18 but the hill country shall be yours, for though it is a forest, you shall clear it and possess it to its farthest borders. For you shall drive out the Canaanites, othough they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.


Deuteronomy 20:1

Laws Concerning Warfare

When you go out to war against your enemies, and see ihorses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is jwith you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.


Judges 1:19

19 pAnd the Lord was with Judah, and he took possession of the shill country, but he could not drive out the inhabitants of the plain because they had tchariots of iron.
