16 So Jesus answered them, ^a“My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. 17 If anyone’s will is to do God’s¹ will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. 18 The one who speaks on his own authority ^bseeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.

49 For I have not ⁱspoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—^jwhat to say and what to speak.

10 Do you not believe that ^jI am in the Father and the Father is in me? ^kThe words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
