A New Commandment
31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man mglorified, and nGod is glorified in him. 32 If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once. 33 Little children, oyet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and pjust as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ 34 qA new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have rlove for one another.”

36 sSimon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered him, “Where I am going you cannot follow me now, but tyou will follow afterward.”

31 c“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you,1 that he might dsift you like wheat, 32 but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And ewhen you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”
37 Peter said to him, “Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
33 Peter1 said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death.”
38 Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, the urooster will not crow till you have denied me three times.
34 Jesus1 said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow this day, until you deny three times that you know me.”
Scripture Must Be Fulfilled in Jesus
35 And he said to them, f“When I sent you out with no moneybag or knapsack or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one. 37 For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in me: g‘And he was numbered with the transgressors.’ For what is written about me has its fulfillment.” 38 And they said, “Look, Lord, here are two hswords.” And he said to them, “It is enough.”
