13 But he is unchangeable,1 and gwho can turn him back?
What he hdesires, that he does.
2 “I know that you can hdo all things,
and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
9 For uhe spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.
10 The Lord vbrings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 wThe counsel of the Lord stands forever,
the plans of his heart to all generations.
19 The Lord has cestablished his throne in the heavens,
and his dkingdom rules over all.
3 dOur God is in the heavens;
ehe does all that he pleases.
5 For I know that bthe Lord is great,
and that our Lord is above all gods.
6 cWhatever the Lord pleases, he does,
in heaven and on earth,
in the seas and all deeps.
7 dHe it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth,
who emakes lightnings for the rain
and brings forth the wind from his fstorehouses.
14 I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; gnothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him. 15 That which is, halready has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God iseeks what has been driven away.1
An Oracle Concerning Assyria
24 The Lord of hosts has sworn:
q“As I have planned,
so shall it be,
and as I have purposed,
so shall it stand,
27 uFor the Lord of hosts has purposed,
and who will annul it?
tHis hand is stretched out,
and who will turn it back?
13 Also dhenceforth I am he;
there is none who can deliver from my hand;
I work, and who can turn it back?”
9 remember the former things of old;
for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me,
10 ydeclaring the end from the beginning
and from ancient times things not yet done,
saying, z‘My counsel shall stand,
and I will accomplish all my purpose,’
11 acalling a bird of prey from the east,
the man of my counsel from a far country.
bI have spoken, and I will bring it to pass;
I have purposed, and I will do it.
Nebuchadnezzar Restored
34 nAt the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and omy reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored phim who lives forever,
qfor his dominion is an everlasting dominion,
and qhis kingdom endures from generation to generation;
35 rall the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing,
and she does according to his will among the host of heaven
and among the inhabitants of the earth;
tand none can stay his hand
or usay to him, “What have you done?”
23 this Jesus,1 hdelivered up according to ithe definite plan and jforeknowledge of God, kyou crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.
28 ato do whatever your hand and byour plan had predestined to take place.
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together hfor good,1 for ithose who are called according to his purpose.
36 For xfrom him and through him and to him are all things. yTo him be glory forever. Amen.
11 In him we have obtained zan inheritance, ahaving been predestined baccording to the purpose of him who works all things according to cthe counsel of his will,
10 so that at the name of Jesus bevery knee should bow, cin heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and devery tongue confess that Jesus Christ is eLord, to the glory of God the Father.
17 So when God desired to show more convincingly to ithe heirs of the promise jthe unchangeable character of his purpose, khe guaranteed it with an oath,
