2  ^y“Can a man be profitable to God?

Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

3  ^zIs it any pleasure to the Almighty if ^ayou are in the right,

or is it gain to him if you make your ways blameless?

6  ⁱIf you have sinned, what do you accomplish against him?

And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?

7  ^jIf you are righteous, what do you give to him?

Or what does he receive from your hand?

11  ^jWho has first given to me, that I should repay him?

^kWhatever is under the whole heaven is mine.
