4  You who tear yourself in your anger,

shall the earth be forsaken for you,

or ^fthe rock be removed out of its place?

1  “Come, ^xlet us return to the Lord;

for he has ^ytorn us, that he may heal us;

he has struck us down, and he will ^zbind us up.

“For three transgressions of Edom,

and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,

^sbecause he pursued his brother with the sword

and cast off all pity,

and his anger tore ^tperpetually,

and he kept his wrath forever.
