24 so they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.” ^vThis was to fulfill the Scripture which says,

So the soldiers did these things,

35 And when they had crucified him, ^tthey divided his garments among them by casting lots.

34 And Jesus said, “Father, ^rforgive them, ^sfor they know not what they do.”¹ And they cast lots ^tto divide his garments.
